I am a crafter ? this means I have A LOT of stuff. I can?t convey to you how difficult it is to keep my supplies organized except to say that it?s . . . . very difficult. It can also be costly. I recently tackled organizing and storing my craft supplies and managed to do it under $20 using supplies from The?Home Depot. Read on to see how.
This will give you just a bit of a taste of what I was dealing with to start. A huge pile of crap on my desk as well as two large bags of more crap that I had purchase (and just shoved into said bags). There is also jewelry that you don?t see here. My ideal solution was to use medium sized containers that were stackable and not too expensive.
That is when I found these 16 qt. Sterlite containers at Home Depot ? $5.88 for TWO. Stackable, durable and not too expensive. I bought three sets for a total of $17.64 before tax (under $20 with tax!).
I liked that my jewelry containers fit into these containers easily. There was room around the side for me to tuck extra that wouldn?t fit into the smaller containers, so now it?s all in one place. Have you heard of organizing organizing containers? No? Well, you have now.
Crafting supplies went into one container ? pattern sheets and instructions into another. Everything fit quite nicely.
The best part? With all of that stuff that you saw, I only filled four bins. So now I have two more left over to fill. Yay! That is every crafter?s dream ? more space to fill. Can you believe I cleaned up my mess for less than 20 bucks? Not everything is off of the desk, but some of it I wanted to leave on display ? most of the rest is in these bins! I?m so impressed.
A big thanks to The Home Depot for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.
