Three Streaming Gadgets to Make the Holiday Season Bright (ContributorNetwork)

Even though the holiday shopping season is predicted to be average at best, some interesting tech products, due to be released soon, and some old favorites should still hold a certain level of appeal. The nice thing about technology is that no matter how much cool new stuff comes out, the holidays almost always deliver something better. Sure the Xbox Kinect and iPad 2 will be hot gifts -- because they offer some of the coolest and most versatile technology around -- but three products in particular should grab the attention of any streaming enthusiast.

Netgear NeoTV NTV200

Streaming media players that hook up to the television are not anything new, but the reliability of the Netgear name means their take on turning every television into a smart television should be widely received. The built in Wi-Fi is designed with high-definition programming in mind. Everything from Netflix, Vudu, Pandora, and YouTube is available to stream on the big screen in the living room for around $80. Plus, even though the unit comes with a remote, the NeoTV remote app is available in the Apple App Store and the Android Market.

GiiNii AudioBulb

Wireless is the new cool, but setting up a wireless sound system and mounting speakers can prove difficult. Luckily, the folks at GiiNii have created the AudioBulb system. Basically, the system, which comes equipped with two AudioBulbs and a base station, screws into light fixtures to provide light and tunes.

The base station plugs into an iPod or whatever audio source is available (thanks to the universal 3.5mm connector), and then transmits music to the AudioBulbs. The best part is the AudioBulbs screw into any standard light bulb socket, which means lamps and lights are now the ultimate hidden speaker. The 5-watt LED bulbs deliver the light of a 60-watt bulb and have a range of up to 100 feet. The system starts at $300.

Kindle Fire

The hottest tech gadget of the year could be the Kindle Fire. The Fire offers seven inches of entertainment glory for a sub-$200 price tag. Since the Fire is an Amazon product, users can store their favorite music, movies, television, magazines, or books that were purchased on Amazon for free in the companies cloud. Plus, Whispersync technology allows users to watch their media across multiple devices, which means a movie could start on the Kindle Fire and end on the family television. The price point of the Fire is half the cheapest iPad, so users willing to sacrifice a few inches for media freedom on a tablet should probably check it out.
