Suicide attacker kills 2 policemen in Pakistan

(AP) ? Pakistani police say a suicide bomber attacked a vehicle ferrying policemen in the country's northwest, killing two and wounding a third officer.

Police officer Shah Nawaz says the attack took place on Friday as the officers drove through the northwestern town of Risalpur, a key town in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Nawaz says the slain officer, Akhtar Shah, had played a key role in arresting several Pakistani Taliban militants from the province.

Shah was known to be on the militant's hit lists and had survived several attempts on his life.

Police officer Shah Nawaz says the attack took place on Friday as the officers drove through the northwestern town of Risalpur. He says a third policeman was also wounded in the attack.

Nawaz says the slain officer, Akhtar Shah, had played a key role in arresting several militants from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where Risalpur is the provincial capital.
