Dr. Luke and Max Martin, Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" and EMI Music Publishing collected top kudos at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel on Wednesday.Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald and Martin were honored as songwriters of the year for penning five of the performing rights org's most performed tunes of the year, including Katy Perry's "California Gurls" and "Teenage Dream" and Taio Cruz's "Dynamite."Dr. Luke also authored Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA" and Ke$ha's "Tik Tok," while Martin scribed Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" and Adam Lambert's "Whataya Want From Me."Ubiquitous "Soul Sister," written by Train's lead singer Pat Monahan, was tabbed as song of the year. Number collected a Grammy this year, in an exclusive iTunes version, for best pop performance by a duo or group.Market share leader EMI Music Publishing collected publisher of the year. It was the company's ninth straight win and 17th victory in the ASCAP Pop Awards' 28-year history.Rod Stewart was acknowledged with the ASCAP Founders Award for his career work, while Band of Horses received the Vanguard Award, given to breaking acts.Randy Bachman of Canada's Bachman-Turner Overdrive scored the Global Impact Award, reflecting his ongoing international popularity.
