Do We Understand What is Lymphoma Cancer? | Savvy Virtual Assistant

The fluid that circulates in the lymphatic system is called lymph; it travels through the body via lymph vessels. This body system is composed of the lymph nodes, lymph, lymph vessels, bone marrow, liver and spleen. The Lymph is a fluid that passes around the lymphatic system. You can find lymphocytes in this fluid, it fights pathogens. The lymph nodes on the other hand are found in various places of the body. For this reason, there are several areas of the lymphatic system that is in danger from cancer. The cancer of the blood that comes from the body?s lymph system is diagnosed as lymphoma cancer. The lymph, lymph vessels, lymph nodes, bone marrow, spleen and liver comprised the lymph system.

There are other cancers that also start within the lymph nodes like breast cancer. However its symptoms are not similar to lymphoma cancer symptoms. Although a lot of people have heard of it and it is a very ordinary type of blood cancer, not all have thought of the dangers of what is lymphoma cancer?A lot of people mix up lymphoma with leukemia, but on contrary it is two different types of blood cancer. Almost 56 percent of all patients who are affected with blood cancer have lymphoma. Lymphoma starts when the lymphocytes or white blood cells are gradually multiplying that results to malignant changes in the lymph nodes and other areas in the body. It cultivates to a large number and starts to kill the healthy cells that lead to tumor transformation.

Lymphoma starts in any of the bone marrow, lymph nodes or blood and it can spread faster than expected to other parts of the body. The trouble with lymphoma cancer lies in the lymphocytes especially the B-lymphocytes and T-lymphocytes. This is where the classification Hodgkins and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma is derived. This will give you an idea on what is lymphoma cancer all about.

Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of lymphoma cancer where the Reed-Sterndberg cells are present in the B-cells under morphological studies while the Non Hodgkin Lymphoma is a type of lymphoma that occurs even without the presence of the Reed-Sternberg cells. Inside the lymph nodes, when the cells become excessive it transforms into tumor cells. It can make things more complicated because the body organs will become malnourished and die.

Generally, what is lymphoma cancer is about it is a type of cancer in the blood but extremely different from leukemia and it can only be detected with the use of imaging tests like MRI, x-ray, and CT-scan. Its treatments may be approached with chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Campaign Internet Marketing Secrets - All about online money making.

Campaign Internet Marketing Secrets
Whether you?ve already got a campaign internet marketing plan in effect or you?re just starting out, it?s vitally important for you to understand what your target market wants. This is true of any marketing campaign, whether it?s online or at the small store on the corner. And it?s never been truer of the niche businesses online today.

When you have a business aimed at a certain target market, identifying that target market is the most important first step. But once you know whom to market your products or services to, where do you go from there? Aside from just getting yourself in front of your target market, how do you better narrow things down to appeal to those within that market who might want or need your product or service now? With a plan that knows what your customers want and appeals to them on that level.

So you already know your target market. Whether your target market is made up of pet owners, whether they?re people in the market for new electronic equipment, or they?re people who want to make money online, you have to figure out what exactly they want within those general groups in order to get to this level of detailed action list.

A pet owner, for instance, will want to take good care of the pet?s health. They?ll want their pet to live a long, happy life, have fun, be comfortable. They?ll also want the pet to behave, and not make messes in the house by pottying indoors or chewing things up. Pick a want and appeal to it for especially effective specific plan. If you want to market potty training pads, books about potty training dogs or a CD-rom with an instructional video onboard, then take the customer?s desire to potty train a dog and appeal to it when promoting the products.

Break down why they might want what they want. When it comes to potty training a dog, they want to keep their floors clean and avoid the sight and smell of a puppy mess indoors. And maybe they want to be able to say how quickly and easily the dog was trained, to boast on the animal?s intelligence. Advertise the product by pointing out that it can help them avoid odors and messes. Point out how it will teach their dog to behave in a way that will help the customer avoid those things, and point out that it can do so more quickly than if the customer attempts to potty train the animal without it.

When it comes to people who want to make money online, think of the reasons they want to do so. Do they want to quit their job, take more vacations, spend more time with family? The best strategy is to take each reason and devise a way to convince the customer that your product or service will help them achieve it.

How to Choose the Best Elder Care in Bucks County | Wisdom Danes

While we all would love to remember our elder relatives like they once were, active and full of life, it?s not possible to turn back the hands of time. As we age, mental and mobility issues start to creep in, preventing most from being as independent as they once were. While admitting that our relatives are not as young as they once were is hard enough, finding the right elder care that can meet their needs while being compassionate to family and loved ones can be quite difficult. Since we cannot prevent our loved ones from getting older, we can help them enjoy life to the fullest by getting them the care they so desperately need. Here are some key tips that can help you choose the best elder care bucks county organization so you can feel confident in the knowledge that you family member?s needs will be taken care of.

First, determine what their needs are. With each elder care bucks county organization catering to a specific level of needed service, you will need to determine exactly what your relatives needs are. Are they still active and just need some help around the house, or is their memory not as good as it once was and they need some help to remember when its time to take their medication? While it is true that your relative?s needs will change as they age, its best to find the right service that can help them with their current needs, and then adjust accordingly as time goes on.

Second, make sure you ask as many questions as you can of the elder care bucks county organization. When it comes to putting your relative in the hands of another, you need to make sure the provider you select has their best interests at heart. Do they truly care about helping the elderly, or are they just in it for a paycheck? Find out how employees are chosen. Are background checks required, or are employees hired on their word, or references alone? While many are taught to trust everyone, especially those in the healthcare industry, when it comes to a loved ones life, you need to assume the worst until you are shown otherwise. Ask as many questions as you want until you feel comfortable that the chosen organization is the right one for you and your relatives needs. If the organization is shifty, and not willing to answer your questions or address your concerns, then it would be in your best interest to look elsewhere.

Lastly, do your research. With a variety of elder care bucks county organizations in existence, make sure you take the time to do some research. While choosing an elder care organization may not be as simple as doing an internet search, take the time to talk with your friends, neighbors and even your physician and get recommendations. If someone left one organization and went to another one, find out why and then formulate your own opinion. Once you have the right knowledge you can then make an informed decision, allowing you to feel safe in the fact that your elder relative will be in the hands of a caring, qualified professional.

These are just a few of the tips that can help you choose the right elder care bucks county organization. Determine what your relative?s needs are, and invest some time in word of mouth research, and you are sure to find the right qualified elder care organization that can assist your relative with the care and compassion that they deserve.

New mileage standards aim for less fuel, pollution (AP)

WASHINGTON ? President Barack Obama and automakers ushered in the largest cut in fuel consumption since the 1970s on Friday with a deal that will save drivers money at the pump and dramatically cut heat-trapping gases coming from tailpipes.

The agreement pledges to double overall fuel economy to 54.5 mpg by 2025, bringing even greater under-the-hood changes to the nation's autos starting in model year 2017 and introduce more electric and hybrid technology to pickup trucks. Cars and trucks on the road today average 27 mpg.

"This agreement on fuel standards represents the single most important step we have taken as a nation to reduce our dependence on foreign oil," Obama said, sharing the stage with top executives of 11 major automakers and a top automobile workers union official, before a backdrop of some of the most cutting-edge cars and pickup trucks on the road.

"Just as cars will go further on a gallon of gas, our economy will go further on a barrel of oil," Obama said.

When achieved, the 54.5 mpg target will reduce U.S. oil consumption from vehicles by 40 percent and halve the amount of greenhouse gas pollution coming out of tailpipes. It builds on a 2009 deal between the Obama administration and automakers, which committed cars and trucks to averaging 35.5 mpg by model year 2016.

For American families, the president said the agreement ? which will be subject to a midcourse review ? means filling up the car every two weeks, instead of every week. That would save $8,000 in fuel costs over the life of a vehicle purchased in 2025, compared to a 2010 model, a White House analysis said.

The changes also are likely to push up the cost of a new vehicle, but just how much is unclear because the regulation still has to be written. That process will get started in September.

The mileage target announced Friday isn't exactly what consumers will see in their future cars. A formula that gives credits to manufacturers for electric cars, the use of low-emission air conditioning refrigerant and technology that shuts down engines at traffic lights means the actual fuel economy is likely to come in closer to about 40 mpg. Stickers on future cars and trucks will also display different numbers because they'll be based on real-world mileage tests.

The deal was less than what environmentalists and public health advocates wanted but more than desired by the Detroit Three ? General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. In a letter to the president last week, Michigan lawmakers called the White House's initial proposal of 56.2 mpg "overly aggressive," after automakers had said they'd work to get vehicles averaging 42.6 to 46.7 mpg. Green groups, meanwhile, had pushed for a 62 mpg target by 2025.

For Obama, who watched his campaign promise to limit global warming pollution die when Republicans retook control of the House, the compromise provides a way around political roadblocks and a down payment on climate change.

The deal also provides an answer to critics who say the president has not done enough to address high gasoline prices. It promises to reduce demand at a time when Republicans in Congress have criticized Obama for being too slow to drill and not opening up more areas to oil and gas exploration after the massive Gulf oil spill last year.

And at a time when a consensus in Congress is elusive on the debt ceiling and curbing the federal deficit, the president said the fuel economy deal was a "valuable lesson to" Washington.

"You are all demonstrating what can happen when people put aside differences," Obama said. "These folks are competitors, you've got labor and business. But they said we are going to work together to achieve something important and lasting for the country."

For automakers, particularly the Detroit Three, the deal signaled a turnaround from the days when they resisted boosting fuel economy targets, arguing that consumers would not buy smaller and more efficient cars, and that the technology to reduce fuel consumption was too expensive.

That stance has been challenged in recent years by a 2007 energy law that mandated the government evaluate and set new fuel economy targets, by a Supreme Court decision that said the Environmental Protection Agency had the authority to control global warming pollution from vehicles, and by a state ? California ? that has set stricter emissions standards than the rest of the country.

Mary Nichols, chairman of the California Air Resources Board, said auto companies wanted "one set of cars they could sell anywhere in the U.S" and the changes the deal would bring would meet state targets. "We will accept standards that were announced today as being compliant with California standards through 2025 unless and until there is a change," she said.

A $62 billion taxpayer-funded bailout for GM and Chrysler added to the White House's leverage.

Some environmentalists lauded the agreement Friday, but said that manufacturers owed taxpayers a bigger deal after bailing them out.

"An auto industry that owes its survival to taxpayer bailouts ungratefully flouted the public's demand for fuel efficiency and less pollution, fighting for loopholes until the bitter end," said Dan Becker, director of the Safe Climate Campaign.

For consumers, the new requirements are well beyond the gas mileage of all but the most efficient cars on the road today.

By the time the new standards take effect, the government expects gas-electric hybrids to make up about half the lineup of new vehicles, with electric vehicles making up about 10 percent of the fleet.

Currently hybrid and electric vehicles combined amount to less than 3 percent of U.S. vehicle sales, according to J.D. Power and Associates.

They'd also force auto companies to get rid of some less-efficient models as they try to boost gas mileage of their lineups. But that depends on how quickly new technology can be developed. Pickup trucks, which rank as some of the biggest sellers for American automobile companies, get a slight reprieve under the agreement. They will only have to increase fuel economy in the first five years by 3.5 percent. After that time, they will have to match the 5 percent annual increase for cars.

Automakers are far better prepared with a much stronger line up of small cars, as well as hybrid and electric vehicles. General Motors and Nissan are selling mass-market electric vehicles, while Mitsubishi, Ford, Toyota and others are about to enter the market.

Nissan's vice president Scott Becker in a statement said the Obama administration has issued some extremely challenging greenhouse gas reduction and fuel economy improvement targets, but Nissan was "up to the task."

Nissan introduced the LEAF - the world's first and only 100-percent electric car for the mass market - in December 2010. More than 4,000 of the 99 miles-per-gallon vehicles are already on the road.

GM and Ford already have small gasoline-fueled cars that get 40 mpg or better on the highway, and Chrysler will have one next year. Small car sales are up 21 percent so far this year, showing consumer interest is up.

That is perhaps the deal's best selling point.

"It is hard to call higher fuel economy standards job killing when all of the automotive companies support it, and the United Auto Workers support it," said Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass.

Ron Bloom, the White House's chief negotiator on the deal, said Friday it was "an example of industry starting to lead the parade."

Police: Freestyle Olympic skier kills self in Utah (AP)

SALT LAKE CITY ? Olympic silver medalist Jeret "Speedy" Peterson was found dead in a remote canyon in Utah in what police are calling a suicide. Peterson, a freestyle skier who patented the so-called "Hurricane" and took second place at the Vancouver Games with it, called 911 before shooting himself, police said. The 29-year-old had been cited for drunken driving Friday in Hailey, Idaho and had pleaded not guilty.

Officers found Peterson late Monday night between Salt Lake City and Park City in Lambs Canyon. Police said a suicide note was found near Peterson's car; they declined to reveal what it said.

He was one of the most colorful of athletes, and he wore his heart on his sleeve ? never more than on Feb. 26, 2010, when he walked off the mountain with tears streaming down his face after taking the silver medal.

"I know that a lot of people go through a lot of things in their life, and I just want them to realize they can overcome anything," Peterson said that night. "There's light at the end of the tunnel and mine was silver and I love it."

It was a poignant closing chapter to a career that, until then, had been filled with success on the smaller stages of his fringe sport but defined in the mainstream by his moment at the Turin Olympics where, after finishing seventh, he was sent home early after a minor scuffle with a buddy in the street.

Over the next months and years, he began telling his story.

In Italy, he was still reeling from the suicide of a friend, who had shot himself in front of Peterson only months before.

Peterson also had problems with alcohol and depression and admitted he had his own thoughts of suicide, all stemming from a childhood in which he was sexually abused and lost his 5-year-old sister to a drunken driver.

"Today is a sad day in our sport," Bill Marolt, the CEO of the U.S. ski team, said in a statement Tuesday. "Jeret `Speedy' Peterson was a great champion who will be missed and remembered as a positive, innovative force on not only his sport of freestyle aerials, but on the entire U.S. Freestyle Ski Team family and everyone he touched."

Peterson got his nickname because of the big helmet he wore, one that made him look like Speed Racer of cartoon fame.

But quickly, he became better known for the "Hurricane"_ five twists wrapped inside of three somersaults off the snowy ramp that was more difficult than anything anyone else would try.

It was high-risk, high-reward, and Peterson always insisted he'd have it no other way. It was a sight to behold when he landed it and the judges rewarded it. Helped by the huge difficulty marks for the jump, he still holds the two-jump scoring record of 268.70, set at Deer Valley in January 2007.

He had seven wins on the World Cup circuit, was the 2005 World Cup champion and a three-time American champion.

But the stats and the medals were only a fraction of the story.

Born with the heart of a gambler, he took that passion to Las Vegas and won $550,000 playing blackjack one night. But within years, he was virtually broke again after giving some of it away and losing even more in the tanking real estate market.

Trying to decide whether he wanted to stay in the sport after Turin, he took time off and started working in the construction business ? a place, he said, where he could see the effort of a hard day's work without having to walk into the video room the next day and break it down on the TV screen.

He also got sober and said last year that he had stopped drinking.

It was all a precursor to his return to his passion ? skiing. He recommitted leading up to Vancouver. And what a payoff. He came in second that night, but hardly felt like a runner-up.

"I do it because I want to be the person I know I can be," he said. "I've really changed things around in the last 3 1/2 years. This is my medal for everything I've overcome, and I'm ecstatic."

Bobsledder Steve Mesler was one of the thousands who was inspired watching Peterson that night.

"I'll never forget watching him live his dream last February," Mesler said on his Facebook page. "RIP one of the most inspirational people I've ever known."

More recently, Peterson was enrolled at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, working on a degree while he took some time off and decided if he wanted to re-up for 2014. He was at the U.S Ski Team headquarters about a month ago, where he gave a speech that U.S. Ski Team spokesman Tom Kelly was, typically, "fantastic."

Peterson's message to almost anyone he talked to was to take chances, to never settle for ordinary. And in a sport known for its risk-takers and daredevils, Peterson still stood out. Maybe the most fitting tribute is that nearly a decade after he first started trying to push his sport forward with the "Hurricane," there still isn't a skier who will try anything more daring.

"He was about setting a standard for his sport," Kelly said. "He put that jump out there and nobody else really ever challenged him on it."

Employee Safety: What Are My OSHA Obligations? : Michel and ...

You are here: Home / Firearm News / MAPC Victory: FRESNO COURT ISSUES FORMAL RULING FINDING AMMUNITION REGULATIONS ARE UNCONSTITUTIONALLY VAGUE

If you?re an employer that is unsure about what the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) law is, or what OSHA guidelines you should be following, a quick introduction may be necessary. OSHA mandates that all employers engaged in business affecting commerce need to provide safe working conditions for their employees. This means that employers need to be sure to remove hazardous or dangerous conditions, amongst other things. Do you know what your obligations are under OSHA? Be familiar with OSHA guidelines. As an employer, you need to be sure that you are following OSHA guidelines, which are federal law. In particular, you need to be able to know what guidelines and regulations are applicable to your workplace, and have copies available for employees who request them. Keep records of injuries and illnesses. Businesses with 11 employees or more at any time during a calendar year are required to keep records of occupational injuries and illnesses. Some businesses are not required to keep records, such as those in retail trade, finance, insurance, real estate and service industries. Display OSHA?s Safe and Healthful workplaces poster. Employers are required to post this poster, or its state equivalent, somewhere where employees can look over the information. Inform employees about hazardous chemicals. If your business uses hazardous chemicals, you need to inform your employees about these hazards and train them on proper safeguards. Remember also that your business is subject to inspection. Employees have the right to contact a local or state OSHA office to request an inspection if there is a hazard or danger in the workplace. And, of course, the above list is not exhaustive of all employer obligations under OSHA. Contacting an attorney who is familiar with OSHA laws and OSHA guidelines can also be helpful if you are being inspected, or if an employee has decided to file suit against you for any workplace safety conditions.
