Family Home and Life: Judging a Book by Its Cover

I gave birth to?a beautiful bouncing baby boy who from the time he was old enough to understand the difference in a tattoo and writing on yourself with markers wanted them on him. Lots of them! I was horrified; this boy of mine could be a model he was so handsome and tall. And is intelligent and such a nice and gentle person; I thought the whole world would perceive him as something awful because of his tattoos.

Well some do. I never let him have a tattoo?though while he was still at home. He waited until he was old enough, out on his own for his first one; he chose a tat memorial to his deceased father.?Then he?purchased a tattoo gun and went to town on himself. Yes he tattooed himself, he?s a do-it-yourself-er like me. :/ He's left arm is almost a sleeve and actually looks really good; his right arm to the elbow, and both thighs. He started on his thighs as practice.

Several of?the adults in the family?now have small tats by my talented son.?They are all nicely done.?My husband went for two, one on each inside forearm even though he loudly vocalized his disagreement with my son being the tattoo giver to anyone since he was inexperienced and this could be dangerous, he was the very next victim, family member to ask for and receive a tat and loves his.
For a while my son designed and sold T Shirts, dresses, button down shirts?and a few children's shirts that all featured his tattoo designs. He even organised and held a?couple fashion shows at some very upscale locations here in the valley. Above pic is of him and a model before one of his shows.

Later, he married that model :)? I'm happy he did! She is wonderful and they gave me a beautiful grand baby too.

I helped do some of the art work for some clothing items and below is one of my own drawings he used on a shirt.

My son is no longer designing and selling?clothing because of the? present?economy but he does sell a few old school tattoo?T Shirts through Cafepress. Please click through and at least look at his beautiful art work even if you don't want a T shirt. I?m rather proud of him; he is 100% self-taught.

Lately,?I see?tattoos in a different light. I have learned that judging a book by it?s cover is not a very accurate way to judge at all. I believe we should weigh our life choices carefully, gently, and considering others because we do have an impact, good or?bad, on everyone around us even when we aren?t aware of it.? I?believe my grandkids are growing up in a world that is accepting of many different points of view and for that I am grateful. Let?s not judge each other so harshly, each walks their own path looking for their way. I pray that each seeker .....finds.
