In this job, here are some of the duties to be performed: The Chief Information Officer will provide technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing information management initiatives, plans, policies, programs, and schedules. This position will be located in upstate SC.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
IM Strategy, Planning, Governance and Management
?Participate as a member of the senior management team
?Lead a governance structure that aligns IM initiatives with business priorities while balancing resource constraints (human and fiscal) to optimize IM investments (The IM Portfolio). This governance process will produce an annual IM plan and budget that is integrated into the system planning and budgeting processes.
?Responsibility for the selection, acquisition, development, installation, maintenance and support of information technology, including telecommunications.
?Manage, in conjunction with other leaders, the project approval and selection process.
?Ensure that all initiatives in the IM portfolio have clear business goals and success metrics.
?Monitor and report on the performance of the IM portfolio including actual vs. expected results, budgets and project duration.
?Perform an ongoing assessment of IM capabilities of employees and contractors and IM performance on behalf of entities across the Company. Evaluate performance and skill against company needs.
?Direct and influence IM activities in integrating new acquisitions
?Direct and influence IM strategy in conjunction with operational product development.
?Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
?Ensure equipment and software operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
?Coordinate and drive the business relationships with key internal and significant external partners
?Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IM spending initiatives
?Direct actions to continuously improve managing the business of IM
IM Operations and Technical Support
?Management responsibility for all IM activity
?Understand application architecture and technical infrastructure of company?s information systems
?Analyze and improve upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market
?Develop a strategy and plans for the technical infrastructure and application architecture for company and execute the plan. The plan shall include standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, software and interconnection of information systems.
?Ensure that enterprise information systems operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards and legal requirements.
?Ensure the protection of IM assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by company.
?Develop, maintain, and test a Business Continuity Plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of data and IM services in the event of a disaster.
?Oversee the negotiation of all IM contracts.
?Identify and implement formal training and education as needed
?Where necessary, oversee and develop patenting of intellectual property, inventions, and business processes.
Communication and Collaboration
?Provide advice and counsel concerning IM issues and industry trends.
?Communicate to company?s business leaders the plans for continued standardization efforts of information management across the system.
?Conduct IM planning
?Develop positive relationships with leaders by understanding business priorities and IM enablers.
?Participate in the strategic planning process and share in the development of company?s vision, goals and initiatives.
?Frequently and effectively communicate the IM vision and plans throughout company. Use targeted communications that are appropriate to the various stakeholders. Build excitement around the planned changes and understanding for the selected priorities.
Education: Masters
(Preferred)
To be considered for this job, candidates may be required to have the following skills and experience:
?2-4 years managing and/or directing technological operations.
?8-10 years? experience in the technological industry
?Demonstrated experience with IM systems and IM management as a senior level with a sequence of increasing responsibilities in large and diverse business settings.
?Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development.
?Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, programming, media, and desktops
?Experience with and understanding of strategic and business planning methods, tools, and processes.
?Experience project management and in working through major organizational change
?Solid understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.
?Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems.
