Google voice volume issue

I'm using Google voice for voicemail on decks reloaded rom, and for some reason the volume on GV is really low in comparison to an actual phone call. I have to turn the volume all the way up just to hear a voicemail, and then back down to a nominal level to make a call. Obviously this is somewhat annoying.

My steps:
1. Checked Google voice settings for a separate volume control...none found.

2. Changed the in call volume from 15 steps to 8.

Neither found a fix for the problem. Anyone else experiencing this?
