UConn returns from break, faces South Florida

The ninth-ranked UConn men?s basketball team returns from winter break and will face South Florida at 9 p.m., today, at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Fla.

It?s the Big East opener for both teams. The game will be broadcast on SNY, as well as WTIC (1080 AM), WILI (1400 AM) and WSUB (980 AM).

The Huskies come in with a 10-1 record and last beat Fairfield, 79-71, on Dec. 22. Jeremy Lamb leads the team at 18.9 points per game, followed by Shabazz Napier at 15.5 points and 6.7 assists per contest.

The Bulls, at 7-6, are coming off a 53-51 loss to Southern Miss on Dec. 22. All-time, South Florida is 1-8 against UConn.
Augustus Gilchrist (11.1 ppg) and Jawanza Poland (10.0 ppg) are the lone players to average in double figures for the Bulls.
